Recently, the 9th China (Guangzhou) Annual Investment Conference held its overseas sessions in sub-venues located in Frankfurt, Germany, and Silicon Valley, the United States of America, showcasing Guangzhou's development opportunities and investment prospects to the world.
This year's conference will run with the renowned Canton Fair, featuring new cross-industry integration segments and inviting entrepreneurs from around the globe to participate in the event.
On March 17, the conference at the Frankfurt sub-venue took place, where attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on new strategic cooperation opportunities within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The event welcomed nearly 100 representatives from government departments, innovative enterprises, and business associations. This included Zhu Weige, director of the Economic and Trade Department of the Chinese Consulate General in Frankfurt; Stefan Sack, vice chairman of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China; and Joachim Arnold, vice president of OCO Global.
In his video address, Hong Qian, director of the Guangzhou municipal bureau of commerce, emphasized that Guangzhou will concentrate on high-quality development and manufacturing industries. It will also provide more business opportunities to global enterprises by utilizing its global hub network, strong innovation capabilities, and efficient government services.
The conference attendees were keen to discuss investment opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangzhou, with Huangpu district in Guangzhou emerging as a hot topic.
Stefan Sack described the Greater Bay Area as a vibrant ecosystem with unique advantages for attracting international investment. Joachim Arnold used the Merck Guangdong Innovation Center in Guangzhou International Bio Island as an example to highlight the development advantages of Huangpu. He believes that the district can leverage synergy among enterprises, research institutions, and regulatory agencies, making it an ideal hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
