Guangzhou held a launching and signing ceremony for its major first-quarter projects on Jan 29. More than 460 project contracts were signed and have begun construction, with a total investment of over 680 billion yuan ($100.71 billion).

This year, there are projects in each of Guangzhou's 11 districts. Yuexiu district started its upgrading project for Guangzhou Ocean World and signed a contract for the Guangzhou Bright Eye Hospital project. Tianhe district began construction on its Kugou Music headquarters project, and also signed a contract for the Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering R&D center project.
