eguangzhou.gov.cn | Updated:2022-12-27

The 11th Guangzhou International Light Festival began on Dec 27 and will continue until Jan 8, 2023.

With Cantonese Glory and Future Creativity as its theme, this year's light festival will also be available to be viewed online through the application of the latest technologies such as AR and VR.

The festival uses the facades of 24 buildings on Yanjiang Road, the large screen in the business sector of Beijing Road, as well as the facades of other buildings to broadcast multimedia works. Haixin Bridge, Pearl River Cruise, and Canton Tower are also set to participate in the exhibition.

At the same time, Innovation Bay in Nansha district will also display its light show.

Creating an immersive online light festival through digital high-tech is an innovative breakthrough in this year's light festival.

By using the WeChat mini program, people can not only browse the works of previous light festivals but also enjoy this year's light festival and other AR light shows. In addition, the festival's fan-favorite mascot, also known as Liang Zai, will be unveiled at this year's festival.

The Guangzhou International Light Festival, which has had 10 sessions, has become an archive for the city. It reflects the times and life, while also telling beautiful stories of Guangzhou, Guangdong, and China.
