Macao to ease entry restrictions for 'non-resident foreigners' traveling from HK

GZFAO | Updated:2021-09-13

Macao's Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center announced at a press conference on Sept 9 that the COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong Special Administration Region (SAR) has become under control in recent days and the Macao government has deemed it appropriate to ease entry restrictions for some "non-resident foreigners" traveling from Hong Kong.

"Non-resident foreigners" who meet specific requirements and who have not been to places other than the Chinese Mainland, Macao or Hong Kong in the past 21 days may apply for entry into Macao, starting from Sept 15.

Applicants aged 12 or above should present documents recognized by the Hong Kong SAR government proving that they have been fully vaccinated or produce a doctor's note proving that they are not eligible or have no need to receive COVID-19 vaccines.

After getting entry permits, applicants still need to produce a negative certificate of a nucleic acid test and undergo a 14-day medical observation upon entry.
