Work has begun on the above ground structure of the first bus station on Lingshan Island in Nansha's Pearl Bay, with overall construction expected to finish around August.
Located near Yuhong Park, the bus station is southwest of the intersection of Feisha Road and Qiyi Road. Covering a total floorage of 1,365 square meters, the station will have seven parking spaces for buses and three charging piles.
An official from the administration bureau for the development and construction of Pearl Bay said that the bus station is expected to be the first of its kind in Guangzhou with almost zero energy consumption and the station's comprehensive energy saving rate is expected to reach 89.3 percent.

The station's main building has a design akin to the shape of an umbrella. A total of 36 white columns will be evenly distributed throughout the station and support the funnel-shaped roof. These white columns will also function as pipes to guide rain from the roof to flow onto the ground for irrigation.
High thermal requirements are also required for materials such as doors, windows and facilities used in the station to increase the heat recovery efficiency of the station to more than 70 percent, allowing people to feel comfortable in the station, without air conditioners, in both winter and summer.
Solar photovoltaic panels will be set up on the station's roof so that they can convert solar energy into electricity to meet the daily operation needs of the station.
