Guangzhou has been a pioneer in China in carrying out international comparison research in standards for quality products for strategic emerging industries and the advanced manufacturing industry, officials announced during a press conference held on May 20.
Guangzhou is home to six out of the top 10 customized household brands in China. In addition, the market share of wardrobes made in Guangzhou has accounted to more than 80 percent of the medium and high-end wardrobe industry in China.
Guangzhou was listed among the first batch of "Capital of Customization" by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in December 2019.
The city has taken the lead in formulating and releasing global leading standards for artificial board custom wardrobes, making a total of six innovations, including being the first in the world to use closed boxes to test toxic and hazardous substances, as well as being the first in China to use equipment to test color difference.
At present, more than 20 companies, including national giants, have applied the standards in their manufacturing.
In addition, Guangzhou has carried out cooperation with TÜV Rheinland, a leading provider of technical services worldwide from Germany in various areas, such as odor and hazardous substances control certification, inspection and detection, as well as scientific research, boosting the further development and upgrading of the customized household industry.
