Guangzhou Bonded Zone has seen a total of 1.84 million orders for electronic commerce bonded imports since the Spring Festival, a 2.11 times growth than the same period of time in 2019, Nanfang Daily reported on March 6.

The worth of the total orders amounted to 380 million yuan ($54.89 million), a year-on-year increase of 2.25 times than 2019, according to the statistics released by Huangpu Customs.
"The amount of imported goods has gone through rapid growth, especially milk powder and health food," said Zhang Xiaoyan, a staff member from Huangpu Customs.
Currently, a total of 88 percent of cross-border e-commerce export companies have resumed operations in areas under Huangpu Customs, as well as 98 percent of cross-border e-commerce import companies with the help and support of Guangdong.
The re-operation of several logistics routes has boosted the imported business of fresh food enterprises, as Guangzhou Customs has given clearance to a total of 12,509 metric tons of imported meat like frozen pork, poultry, and beef since Jan 23.
