Guangzhou Customs has launched series of measures to stabilize foreign trade and help companies overcome the issues caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak, Nanfang Daily reported on Feb 27.
Guangzhou Customs has offered postponement of nearly 2.1 billion yuan ($299.53 million) of tax payments for 730 foreign trade companies in Guangzhou Customs District by Feb 24.
"The time limits for tax payments are extended automatically. We don't need to worry about the fine for delaying payment," said Gao Wenwen, a staff member from Daimler Northeast Asia Parts Trading and Services Co Ltd.
Guangzhou Customs has cultivated 1,237 companies with Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certifications and 447 of them hold senior certifications, ranking first among all customs in China.

The number of total AEO companies is expected to increase by 100 this year to further lower the clearance cost for companies when carrying out international trade.
Holders of AEO certifications are entitled to benefits akin to obtaining a green permit for international trade, which will empower enterprises' efforts to broaden their business in overseas markets. Currently, China has achieved AEO mutual recognition with 15 economic entities, as well as 42 countries and regions.
