Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City in Guangzhou's Huangpu district welcomed two smart manufacturing projects on Oct 28.

Akeso Biopharma has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with GE Life Sciences to develop the world's first new double antibody medicine for tumor immunotherapy based on the GE FlexFactory manufacturing platform in Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.

Aptar (Guangzhou) Dispensing Systems Co Ltd, invested by Aptar Group, is the first industrial 4.0 smart manufacturing center of Aptar and is its first active packaging production base in Asia.

Aptar is a leading global supplier with an 80-year history, managing a broad range of innovative dispensing, sealing, and active packaging solutions for the beauty, personal care, home care, prescription drug, consumer health care, injectables, as well as the food and beverage markets.

The company's Guangzhou facilities cover a total area of 22,000 square meters, and it possesses an overall investment of about $70 million.

"We will make full use of the development potential of the household chemical industry and the food and beverage industry in South China, along with the science and technology industry in Guangzhou and Shenzhen to achieve complementary and mutual benefits with Southeast Asian economies," said a person in charge of Aptar Asia.

"Huangpu district has offered personalized and very efficient services in examinations and approvals along with other supporting facilities for projects constructed in the area," added the person in charge.

Currently, Huangpu district has gained great momentum in attracting investment, especially foreign capital. The district is expected to welcome two major projects every week on average until November.
