The Understanding China Guangzhou Conference, which will be held from Oct 25 to 27, is the first time that the conference will be held outside of Beijing and is expected to receive about 200 guests from home and abroad.

The Understanding China Conference, co-organized by the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, and the 21st Century Council of the Berggruen Institute, was first held in 2013.

"I'm really looking forward to this conference. I will offer my suggestions for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from the perspective of innovation in artificial intelligence (AI)," said Liu Wei, chairman and CEO of Pcitech, a professional domestic provider of AI technology and products headquartered in Guangzhou.

"The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has brought us abundant entrepreneurial opportunities. It has the best application scenarios and the most advanced education and medical industry in China, and the area has gathered talents from all over the world," said Du Lan, senior vice president of iFlytek.

IFlytek, a leading company managing AI, has set up a South China branch and a research institute for AI in Guangzhou.

"The development of Guangzhou is like an embodiment of the development of all of China. Through the story of Guangzhou, we can see more vivid cases of economic globalization and better understand China," said Li Dehong, an academician of the Academy of Engineering Singapore.

Being the first full-time foreign academician introduced to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Li will discuss his opinions themed around smart transportation in the digital economy during the event.
