The 126th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, kicked off on Oct 15 at Guangzhou's Pazhou Complex, attracting more than 25,000 companies from home and abroad.

A total of 25,000 domestic companies have showcased at the export fair and over 85 percent of them are private companies, the largest participant group in this year's Canton Fair.

The fair has also attracted 642 foreign companies from 38 countries and regions, with 367 of these companies coming from 21 countries and regions alongside the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), accounting for about 60 percent of the total number of foreign participants.

Industrial household appliance clusters from countries like Turkey, Egypt, India, and Pakistan have been presented during the fair.

An international food show has also been held, inviting companies involved in the food industry from BRI countries like Malaysia and Thailand to explore bigger markets through various forms, such as runway shows and online promotions.

Xu Bing, spokesman of the China Import and Export Fair, said that the event, being the largest trade promotion platform in China, has been promoting economic and trade development among China and BRI countries.
