Guangzhou Foesea Life Insurance Hospital, located in Guangzhou's Zengcheng district, began the trial operation of its first phase on Oct 12.

Fully invested by Forsea Life Insurance Co Ltd, the hospital is a healthcare complex applying the standards of national 3A-grade hospitals, the highest of China's three-tier grading system. 

The hospital is designed as a healthcare complex integrating various functions spanning disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, scientific research, as well as education.

Guangzhou Foesea Life Insurance Hospital has set up more than 40 clinical departments, 84 outpatient clinics, 18 inpatient wards, and 1,800 patient beds.

The first phase of the hospital covers a total building area of about 180,000 square meters, including the outpatient and inpatient buildings, as well as the medical technology building, opening 1,000 patient beds, said Wang Jianping, honorary president of the hospital.

Wang added that the second phase of the hospital is for commercial use, opening facilities such as staff apartments and hotels. The third phase is for distinctive health projects, such as high-end VIP medical services and a tumor proton therapy center with 800 patient beds.

The hospital has been equipped with a number of advanced medical facilities, such as a magnetic surgical system, a 640-set spiral CT, a 3.0T silent magnetic resonance  imaging (MRI) diagnostic instrument, and digital integrated operating rooms.

It is expected that the hospital will become one of the biggest private 3A-grade hospitals with advanced equipment in Guangzhou and Guangdong province within three to five years of development.

The hospital has benefited greatly from its unique geographic location as Zengcheng district sits on an important location of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao science and technology innovation corridor. In addition, Guangzhou Metro Line 22 will set up a station near the hospital.

Shen Chengfang, general manager of Forsea Life Insurance Co Ltd, said that the hospital project will actively participate in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

"We will devote efforts in deepening cooperation with well-developed areas including Hong Kong and making new breakthroughs in areas such as technologies, new medicine admission, and diagnostic testing," added Shen.
