The administrative committee of the Nansha Area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Guangzhou signed a cooperation agreement on Sept 24 with the Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Nansha and Hong Kong will establish a normalized cooperation mechanism for planning and construction.

The construction of the Qingsheng transportation hub in Nansha will be designated as a pilot project and will adopt Hong Kong's method of submitting approvals one-by-one to accelerate construction.

Nansha will also carry out a series of construction projects owned or controlled by Hong Kong companies using Hong Kong's construction model.

According to the agreement, Nansha will gradually open up its construction market to Hong Kong with the goal of improving international competitiveness and influence of Nansha's construction industry.

The leader of Nansha said the agreement will benefit the construction industries of both Nansha and Hong Kong.

More companies and talents from Hong Kong are expected to get involved in Nansha's construction industry and help turn Nansha into a sub-center of Guangzhou and an important cooperation platform for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
