The city of Guangzhou opened the special 12355 hotline on Aug 17 to offer answers to inquiries from Hong Kong and Macao youth working or starting a business in the southern metropolis.

The line was put on a trial operation for three months and youth from the two special administrative regions can make an inquiry or ask for help if they encounter difficulties.

Bringing together the resources of the government, universities, society, and the Communist Youth League of China, the hotline establishes a knowledge base and can answer questions from Hong Kong and Macao youths regarding their life in Guangzhou, especially in learning, employment, entrepreneurship, and living. It will also help them fully understand the employment and entrepreneurship environment, business environment and various policies in Guangzhou, as well as provide various consultation and government services.

During the trial operation, the staff members will continue to collect and summarize the most pertinent issues and continuously improve the data base.
