In celebration of the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival and to mark the 2019 Shangtianhe Cultural Season, a total of 12 dragon boat teams convened at Chebei village in Guangzhou on June 2 for a special race.

The competition attracted top dragon boat racers in the village and in the Pearl River Delta region, as well as teams that enjoy great fame at big national dragon boat races.

The Shangtianhe Cultural Season is an event focusing on high-end, fashionable, and international projects to showcase Guangzhou's cultural strengths. The 2019 edition will last for eight days and includes opera shows under the theme of Dragon Boat Festival, carnival shows, interactive activities, floating flower fairs, as well as innovative and cultural product fairs.
