The Asian Cuisine Festival, a significant part of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations, will be held in the Chinese cities of Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Chengdu in mid-May.
The southern Chinese metropolis Guangzhou is ready for the festival, which will include 42 events in five categories lasting from May 16 to 23.
According to Diao Ailin, deputy secretary general of the Guangzhou municipal government and deputy director of the event's executive committee, the upcoming food festival will center on food culture exhibition, historical civilization inheritance, and exchanges.

The event will take the landscape belt along the Pearl River on both sides as its main venue and create a unique Asian culinary exhibition through an Asian gourmet boutique gallery, an Asian food themed lighting show, and on-the-boat restaurants, according to the deputy director.
"It will be a distinctive feast for the eyes and taste buds of visitors to appreciate light shows integrating cuisine and cultural elements of Asian countries while enjoying the tasty food," he said.
In addition, Haixinsha Island will set up special cultural exhibition areas to display China's eight major cuisines, food in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and stage an evening gala for visitors.
