Rock 'n' Roll Marathon held in Huadu

The 2019 Rock 'n' Roll Marathon leaped on stage in Huadu district, Guangzhou on Feb 24. Over 12,000 runners, including 83 foreigners from countries like Japan, Canada, and the US, joined in the loud and proud musical running event. 

The event consists of a half-marathon, a 10-kilometer run, and a "happy running" competition. The course starts in Huadu Square and passes through Huadu Lake Park and Huadu Wetland Park, enabling runners to appreciate the beautiful early spring views of Huadu district while they run.

In addition to lovely scenery and a nice workout, participants were also treated to rock music throughout their run, as a number of music stations were set up along the route and a large rock music stage was set up at the finish line. What's more, several bands from Guangzhou and Foshan were invited to play live during the event.

After a fierce competition, Chinese runner Bian Qi won the men's half marathon with a time of 1:08:37 and Yin Xiaoyu won the women's half marathon with a time of 1:24:48.

The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon has been held every year for the past 22 years and is one of the largest marathon events in the world in terms of scale and number of participants. This is the second time Huadu district has hosted the event.
