A flower exhibition featuring around a million flowers of over 200 varieties was held in the Guangzhou Seed and Breeding Town on Jan 28. 

The exhibition covers an area of 300 mu (13.3 hectares), offering visitors close up views of roses, sunflowers, galsang flowers and tulips.

According to organizers, over 100,000 tulips are on display, including 30 rare tulip varieties imported from the Netherlands. Twenty of the tulip varieties have never been seen in Guangzhou before. The best time to admire them is from Feb 3 to 19, the day of the Lantern Festival.

In addition to flower exhibitions, the Guangzhou Seed and Breeding Town also opened a whopping 170-mu vegetable plantation to the public. Visitors can pick tomatoes, peppers and cabbages, and are allowed to take them home. 

The ticket price for the exhibition is 38 yuan ($5.66) for both adults and children, and 20 yuan for seniors.
