The 8th Guangzhou International Light Festival, one of the world's top lighting spectaculars, opened on Nov 26, with 300 drones flying over the Pearl River and enhancing the beauty of the colorful Canton Tower.
This year's light festival is spread across four areas, the main venue at Huacheng Square, the six bridges crossing the front channel of the Pearl River, 12 corridors at the new Central Business District (Zhujiang New Town), and a sub-venue in Huangpu district. The light exhibition in Huacheng Square and the Huangpu sub-venue will end on Dec 4 and Dec 10 respectively. The lights on the six bridges and 12 corridors will last until April 25, 2019.
The light festival is open for admission on Dec 3 and 4. Visitors who plan to visit the festival must make an appointment on the official account of Guangzhou International Light Festival a day in advance.
Various activities will also be carried out during the festival, such as an urban lighting forum and night photography contest.
