HKUST to build campus in Nansha

eguangzhou.gov.cn | Updated:2018-10-10

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) will build its Guangzhou campus in Nansha district's Qingsheng Hub Area, according to reports from Guangzhou Daily.

Situated in the north of Nansha New District, Qingsheng Hub Area covers an area of nearly eight square kilometers, making it larger than Guangzhou's CBD Zhujiang New Town.

The area is not only one of the seven major parts of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Nansha Area of Guangzhou but is an ideal location for quick connections to local transport and intercity travel via high-speed rail. It takes just 35 minutes to get to West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong by taking the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.

Qingsheng Hub Area is expected to become an important science and technology innovation node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the International Smart Innovation City and the Artificial Intelligence Industry Demonstration Area over the next few years.
