The volunteers learned about the World Route Development Conference, basic knowledge and precautions of volunteer services, volunteer service positions and requirements, and emergency treatment skills and etiquette. 

Experts in the fields of foreign affairs etiquette, conference etiquette and emergency care were invited to Guangzhou Venture Capital Town to offer the trainings.

The recruitment of volunteers for the event began in August and over 1,151 students signed up in two weeks. After two rounds of interviews, 400 were selected who are from 14 universities including Sun Yat-Sen University, South China University of Technology, Jinan University, Guangzhou University and Guangzhou Medical University.

The World Routes, known as the Olympic Games for the aviation industry, will be hosted in the southern Chinese city from Sept 15 to 18. Representatives and officials from airlines, airports, governments and tourism departments will gather in Guangzhou to talk about airlines and air service development opportunities on a global scale. Over 300 airlines from more than 110 countries and over 700 airport management agencies, as well as 130 government and tourism agencies from 110 countries across the world are slated to participate in the grand event.
