Tour 2: Lingnan Impression Park—Canton Tower—Haixinsha Island—Pearl River Night Cruise

The tour will begin at Lingnan Impression Park. This magnificent park covers more than 40 acres and epitomises the design culture of the Lingnan area. Delegates will be able to enjoy visit the Lingnan style architecture, culture and customs and visit the elegant, Cantonese style houses and temples in the park.

The next stop will be the Canton Tower, located at an intersection of Guangzhou New City Central Axes and the Pearl River, directly opposite Haixinsha Island. At 600 metres high, Canton Tower is the highest tower in China and the third highest tower in the world. The tower's dynamic architecture was built to represent the spirit of Guangzhou as a welcoming city which embraces the world. 

Delegates will then be able to visit Haixinsha Island, which was the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Asian Games. The island is bordered by the new CBD on the north and the Pearl River on the south. Besides allocating a piece of land to the military, local government reportedly compensated another 1 billion in order to acquire land of the island.

The tour concludes with a night cruise down The Pearl River, the third longest inland river in China. The beauty of the Pearl River at night can be compared with that of Hong Kong's Victoria Park. The cruise section from the White Goose Pool to Guangzhou Bridge is the highlight of the Pearl River cruise. Scenery along this part is so fascinating, with jade-coloured water, coloured lights on shore.
