The event, dubbed the Olympics for the civil aviation industry, will gather representatives and officials from airlines, airports, governments and tourism departments in the southern Chinese city, where they will talk about airline and air service development opportunities.

As an important chance to promote the development of the Guangzhou route network, display Guangzhou's image and boost regional economic development, the forum will greatly enhance Guangzhou's position in the global aviation network, promote the gathering of high-end resource elements, and lure more talents and investments to the city.

At the press conference, Guangzhou also unveiled its efforts to operate another 30 international air routes to cities such as Madrid in Spain and Chicago and Boston in the United States, further increasing Guangzhou's pace in building itself into an international aviation hub.
