The fifth season of the US, EU and Chinese Jazz Summit & Tour kicked off on June 21 in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province. 

The summit aims to display new achievements of Western and Eastern culture, and further cultural exchanges.

Gathering five music masters from China, the US and Europe, the tour group will treat music lovers with some familiar Chinese-style jazz music in six cities in Guangdong, according to Li Gaoyang, the sponsor of the summit. Li is a saxophonist and the first Chinese performer to receive the Chinese golden melody award for outstanding work.

Jazz music can contribute to music exchange. Chinese Jazz, led by Li, offers a new style of music combining jazz with Chinese elements, and is sure to delight the audience and give them a real surprise, said Li. "This kind of fusion suggests to me a way to spread Chinese culture to the Westerners in an acceptable way," he added.
