The airport economy in Huadu district, Guangzhou will experience further growth with the construction of a 3.6 billion-yuan ($570 million) aviation training center.
The project, which officially began construction on Feb 8, was initiated by Huadu district and local aviation technology company Meihua Aviation Technologies. Covering an area of 200 hectares, it is the largest aviation training center in the region and will offer training programs for pilots, flight attendants, and flight security guards as well as host aviation expositions.
Luo Ganzheng, deputy head of Huadu district, as well as government officials from the district's industry and commerce department and government affairs office, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
Luo extended his congratulations to those involved in the momentous project and expressed his hope that it would help to build Guangzhou into an international aviation hub.
"Guangzhou's success hinges on large-scale projects such as this and Huadu district will do all it can to assist companies and build a good business environment," he said.
