Liuxihe National Forest Park, a renowned tourist attraction located in the Conghua district of the South China city of Guangzhou, is a great choice for those looking to admire the breath-taking views of a Guangzhou winter.

The park is home to over 200 hectares of plum trees and every December, more than a 100,000 plum trees go into full bloom, making the park the largest of its kind in southern China to exhibit plum blossoms.
The 16th Liuxihe National Forest Park Plum Festival went underway last week and will run until Jan 15 next year. The festival's riveting display of blossoms in full bloom together with the backdrop of shimmering lakes and green mountains is considered one of South China's top spectacles.

According to the event organizers, there are three periods in which visitors can appreciate the flowers in Liuxihe National Forest Park at their peak; these periods are known as the "Meihua Sannong". The first period lasts from Dec 16 to 23, the second from Dec 24 to Jan 7, 2018 and the third from Jan 8 to 15.
