Washington Post publishes Guangzhou advertorials

The Washington Post released two advertorials focused on Guangzhou in its Sept 27 edition, which detailed the southern Chinese city's achievements in innovation.

One of the stories titled High-tech companies flock to city's digital innovation center for growth, centered on consumer products giant Procter & Gamble's decision to invest $100 million in a China Digital Innovation Center in Guangzhou to boost its e-commerce business.

It also cited the remarks of Matthew Price, chairman of the Greater China division in P&G and his analysis of Chinese customers' preferences in purchasing methods and his company's strategies.

The article, written by China Watch, mentioned Guangzhou's progress in innovation-driven projects and industry upgrades and the city's investment of 10.8 billion yuan ($1.67 billion) to support the development of technology.

The other story titled Guangzhou hub sets up overseas offices detailed the city's recent moves of setting up overseas offices in Boston, Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv in Israel.

The offices aim to link local scientific and technological departments with companies and enhance cooperation on innovative technologies for professionals and projects.

The story highlighted the project of Guangzhou Guigu Science and Technology Park, citing the words of the park's president Fan Qun who praises the city for its activity in innovation and entrepreneurship.
