China has become Asia's largest destination for overseas students. In 2016, 440,000 international students studied in China, which is four times more than 10 years ago.
Emefa, who is not willing to provide her full name, is a Togolish student who has studied Chinese at college for four years in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. After she graduated, she got a job in marketing in the city.
The young woman is a talented Chinese speaker who can fluently and accurately pronounce the four tones of the language. Before she graduated, Emefa frequently worked as a part-time translator, also working as a part-time model.
Emefa said she likes Guangzhou's prosperity, a city with tall buildings and bright neon lights that offers limitless promise. She also said she loves her Chinese friends.
"If I develop well in Guangzhou, I will stay in the city", Emefa said.
