Guangzhou global forum roadshow hits Shanghai

Guangzhou, the host city of the 2017 Fortune Global Forum, held a promotion seminar in Lujiazui, Shanghai on July 27, to attract enterprises to attend the high profile event.

Lujiazui is the 12th stop for the global roadshow and more than 300 people took part, including government officials, leaders of Fortune Global 500 companies and reporters from domestic and overseas media outlets.

Shanghai was the first city in China to hold the Fortune Global Forum and the venue for Fortune Global 500 companies in 1999. Guangzhou expects to join hands with Shanghai to further explore cooperation opportunities, according to the organizers.

Before the event, Cai Chaolin, deputy mayor of Guangzhou, met with some of the attendees including Alexander Hoffet, consul general of Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai and Ye Weilong, chairman of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited. Cai detailed Guangzhou's business environment, development philosophy, investment policies and talked with them about their intentions and attitudes towards investing in Guangzhou.

A special round table conference was held during the event, where government officials, scholars, experts as well as enterprise representatives delivered speeches detailing new policies and opportunities at the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Nansha Area of Guangzhou. 

In his speech, Cai said that for investors, Guangzhou has many business advantages, including low living and running costs, highly efficient government services, great growth prospects, an inviting living environment as well as numerous preferential policies for investment.
