Founded in 1975 by the International Model United Nations Association (IMUNA) and United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI), the NHSMUN is a global event to train students to be open-minded, develop their diplomatic skills and propose solutions that benefit all parties in the world.
The NHSMUN China 2017, hosted by IMUNA China, the branch institution of IMUNA in the Greater China Region, was held in China for the first time. The event attracted students from over 100 middle schools in China including Guangdong Experimental High School, Shenzhen Senior High School and the Affiliated High School of Pecking University.

Fan also noted that the students will gain a better understanding of social responsibility, have better international understanding and problem-solving abilities after participating in the NHSMUN China 2017.
