Dream birdwoods bloom from March to May in Guangzhou and the flowers last about 40 days.
Dream birdwoods are classified as a national second-level protected plant and enter full bloom across Guangzhou in late spring. Their flowers are famous for their sparrow-like appearance and mainly appear in two colors, white and purple. The blossom uniquely hangs in bunches, like a flock of ricebirds.
A festival of dream birdwood flowers is held in March at Tianluhu Park in Huangpu district, where it boasts a 50,000-sqaure-meter acreage.
