There is a great variety of orchids, flowering at different times. Orchards in Guangzhou normally bloom before and after Spring Festival, and remain about a month at appropriate temperatures.  

The orchid, an evergreen ornamental plant, is considered one of the "four men of noble character" in Chinese horticulture, along with plum blossoms, chrysanthemums, and bamboo. The flowers bloom in a riot of colors in the spring, including white, yellow, red, and purple.

Orchids are popular in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, and are admired for their delicate fragrance and cultural significance.

Tourists can appreciate orchids of different species and hybrids with dazzling colors in Zhujiang Park during Spring Festival, which provides visitors with more than 10,000 pots of orchids in some 200 varieties.
