Symbols of love and good fortune

Peach flowers open up in March across the city, and last about 20 days before fading.

In Chinese culture they represent good fortune, especially in the realm of love.

Peach flowers bloom in white, pink, and red, and can easily be affected by rain and cold weather. They are widely planted in gardens and mountain areas in Guangzhou, transforming the whole city in early spring.
