A skateboarding club for the visually impaired was recently set up in Guangzhou by four skateboarding enthusiasts hoping to provide a platform for visually impaired residents to engage in the extreme sport.
Coach Zhou Wen and a group of volunteers instructed dozens of visually impaired citizens in how to skateboard at an indoor basketball court in the city.
"The visually impaired have better physical balance and coordination abilities, which sometimes makes it even easier for them to skateboard than normal people," said Zhou Wen.
Despite being his first time, Chen Jinhong, a visually impaired person, did a good job on riding the skateboard. His mother said, "I'm proud of him, and I hope he will continue to take on more challenges."
