Jiuquan
Jiuquan lies in the western part of the Hexi Corridor, surrounded by the Altyn Tagh Mountains, Qilianshan Mountains and Mazong Mountain (Northern Mountain). Jiuquan city is the hometown of Dunhuang Art, the cradle of modern spaceflight, and the birthplace of China’s oil and nuclear industry.

Zhangye
Zhangye, formerly known as Ganzhou, got its name from the phrase "to extend the arm of the country through to the Western Realm" in the Western Han period and has enjoyed a reputation as “Jiangnan Beyond the Great Wall” and “Golden Zhangye” since ancient times.

Pingliang,adjacent to Qingyang and stretching across Longshan Mountain, lies in the east of Gansu province. It covers one district and six counties. The total area of Pingliang is 11,000 km2.
