Last Sunday, Gansu's education system held a grand performance in Lanzhou to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The event, titled "A Million Teachers and Students Sing for the Motherland," showcased patriotic songs.
Over 2,300 students and teachers from 19 universities in Lanzhou, along with representatives from the city's schools, formed 21 performance groups. They performed songs divided into five chapters: "Spark of Revolution," "Years of Hardship," "Ode to Youth," and "Towards the Future."
Zhai Tianlu, a member of the Lanzhou University of Technology's Red Willow Art Troupe told reporters, "Being part of this nationwide singing event was incredibly meaningful and unforgettable. I felt immense pride while performing these patriotic songs."
Since the beginning of the fall semester, Gansu has been organizing this relay singing event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Through relay singing, online showcases, and offline performances, participants have been expressing their love for their country and society.
To date, 50 universities, 14 cities (prefectures), Lanzhou New Area, and 86 counties (cities, districts) across Gansu have completed their relay performances. More than two million teachers and students have participated, with the event garnering over 100 million views across various platforms.
