Gansu Gahai Wetland Nature Reserve, in Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Northwest China's Gansu province, is alive with lush greenery, rich water, blue skies and lovely creatures.

Gahai Lake, located about 3,500 meters above sea level, is called the "Pearl on the Plateau". It nourishes the reserve's beautiful plants, providing a paradise for various species of birds.

When spring emerges, flocks of swans, gray geese, brown-headed gulls and black-necked cranes will roost here, gracing the crystal-like clear water with their presence.

The reserve is also teeming with Cordyceps sinensis, an important medicinal fungus used in traditional Chinese medicine.
