Ganzhou district of Zhangye, Gansu province, has vowed to boost its new energy industries, including wind power and photovoltaic. It is currently seeing a steady improvement in its installed capacity of new energy power and electricity generation.

At present, a 40MW photovoltaic power generator has been combined to the grid, coupled with a series of projects currently under construction, green energy will become a new engine for local economic development.

On Nov 18, at the Nantan Zhongneng Green Power Plant in Ganzhou district, Zhangye, Gansu province, workers are busy installing photovoltaic panels. Upon completion, the annual average power generation capacity will exceed 548 million kilowatt-hours -- equivalent to saving 170,000 tons of coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 450,000 tons per year.
