Autumn has painted the trees, known by their scientific name populus euphratica, in a golden shimmer in Jinta county of Jiuquan, Gansu province.

It's the time of year when the forest puts on its best show of color. The mirror-like lake reflects the beauty of the forest, making it an ideal getaway for tourists.

The forest is an important part of the Three-North Shelter Forest System. In order to fight against sandstorms, Jinta people have planted more than 5,333 hectares of woods, including more than 667 hectares of populus euphratica.
