Yan Jiancheng, a native of Yuan'an village in Humei town, Datian county, Sanming, East China's Fujian province, moved to Shenzhen in 1996 to work in the electronics and information industry. His passion for music led him to create a web platform for Chinese classical music, transforming his life.

In 2012, Yan decided to establish a guqin factory in Shenzhen. However, in 2017, officials from Humei town encouraged him to return to his hometown and contribute to its vitalization. Intrigued by the idea of establishing a musical instruments factory in his picturesque hometown, Yan also found the land and labor more economical, and the government provided strong support.

Following his return, Yan relocated his Shenzhen factory to Yuan'an Village and established a live-streaming room in Datian to sell traditional Chinese instruments. This move created more local employment opportunities, with over 30 villagers working in Yan's music factory and e-commerce team.

The relocation of the musical instruments factory has had a significant impact on the village.

Yan is not limited to craft and sell instruments, but also dedicated to expanding the ancient Chinese musical instrument industry. The newly-constructed exhibition hall showcases various traditional Chinese instruments, and a music performance hall is currently under construction. The exhibition hall will display a collection of renowned instruments and the entire process of crafting ancient Chinese instruments, while the music hall will host public guqin recitals and traditional cultural performances.

Yuan'an village has taken steps to revitalize its cultural and tourist attraction. Yan's efforts have not only created economic opportunities but also enriched the village's culture.
