With agreements on 638 projects involving a total planned investment of 484.57 billion yuan ($66.46 billion) being inked, the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade came to a successful close in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on Sept 11.
Both the number of participating organizations and the total agreed investment amount hit a five-year high.
The four-day event, themed "Open and Integrated: Key to High-Quality Development," attracted nearly 80,000 domestic and foreign merchants from 106 countries and regions and more than 1,000 trade groups.
Digital economy, green development and poverty alleviation, the key cooperation areas of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), were the focuses of the event, and a number of specialized exhibition areas were set up to demonstrate a new investment track.
This year's CIFIT launched a series of "Hot Investment Cities" activities to explore the unique advantages and development potential of 18 cities and help them promote themselves and showcase their development potential and investment opportunities, expanding their investment promotion channels.
