The 2023 Dehua International Ceramic Culture Week will be staged in Dehua county, Quanzhou city, Fujian province from Sept 19-25. The first promotional event of the week was hosted in Beijing from Friday to Monday.

Exquisite white porcelain works were on display and master ceramic artists gave demonstrations of their skill at the Beijing event, where visitors got to appreciate the beauty of Dehua ceramics and had a deeper understanding of the ceramic culture.

The week this year is committed to getting closer to young people and spreading the appeal of white porcelain to a wider audience, according to the organizers.

To date, Dehua is home to more than 4,000 ceramic enterprises, forming an integral industrial chain, from porcelain clay exploitation to processing and sales, says Fang Junqin, head of the county.

In 2022, local porcelain output value reached 50.2 billion yuan ($7 billion), with an annual growth of 11.5 percent on average over the years.
