Fujian province's exports to Taiwan rose more than 20 percent year-on-year in 2022, according to the Fujian provincial government work report.

According to the report, Fujian, the closest mainland province to Taiwan, led the country in terms of the number of newly-established Taiwan-invested enterprises and the amount of the actual use of investment from Taiwan last year.

In 2022, Fujian created a number of favorable policies and convenience for people from Taiwan to work, live, and start their own businesses in the province, and held more than 200 cross-Straits special exchange events.

In 2023, Fujian plans to continue to deepen economic and trade cooperation with Taiwan, enhance collaboration in industries such as electronic information, biotechnology and modern services, and promote the development of Taiwan-related economic cooperation parks.

The province will also strengthen grassroots and youth exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits, among other efforts. It also intends to continuously improve the policy support and service system for young people from Taiwan to come to Fujian for employment and entrepreneurial pursuits, and encourage them to participate in Fujian's grassroots integration practices in the fields of ecological environmental protection, rural vitalization, community service, and volunteering.
