A group of 12 South African students from Wenzhou Polytechnic's School of Digital Trade recently visited local enterprises in Wenzhou city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – to learn about Chinese manufacturing and explore potential business collaborations.
One of the highlights of their visit was a tour of Wenzhou's Lovedoor Group, a global leader in eyewear packaging and supply chain solutions.
The visitors tried out things at the company's talent training hub and they also explored Lovedoor's sample room, R&D design center and production workshops.
The R&D center, equipped with advanced software and hardware, enables seamless development from conceptual sketches to 3D modeling, structural analysis and simulation tests.
In the production workshop, the group witnessed every stage of the manufacturing process, including raw materials processing, assembly and packaging – offering them an in-depth understanding of the efficiency and precision of "Made in China" products.
The visit also included discussions with Lovedoor representatives on cultural exchanges, trade collaborations and potential partnerships between China and Africa.
The South African students expressed admiration for Wenzhou's eyewear packaging industry and the broader opportunities for cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The students are part of the "China-South Africa International Regional Collaboration on Industry, Education, and Government" program. Over six months, the program provides South African entrepreneurs, students and government officials with training in e-commerce, entrepreneurship and urban infrastructure maintenance.
