Big things are expected after the management committee of Lishui Industrial Park in Liandu district – in Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – joined hands with Shanghai Xiaojian Biotechnology Co Ltd recently, according to park officials.

They said the two sides will establish a Liandu-Shanghai talent and sci-tech innovation incubation center in the Free Trade No 1 Plaza in the city of Shanghai, 400 kilometers or so to the north, officials said.

The facility is going to serve as a window for attracting high-quality and innovative medical equipment projects to Lishui Industrial Park.

It will also facilitate the establishment of joint research institutions between Liandu district and Shanghai Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, according to officials.

Shanghai Xiaojian Biotechnology – located in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Shanghai FTZ – is mainly engaged in the development, services and consultations in technology in the fields of biotechnology, computers, network information and medical device technology.

Free Trade No 1 Plaza, also located in the Shanghai FTZ, is an industrial park integrating the headquarters offices of biomedical enterprises, product displays, drug research and development, pilot production and other functions.
