Hangzhou boat manufacturer provides for Asian Games

In the just-concluded dragon boat race at the 18th Asian Games, the Chinese team pocketed two golds and two silvers. Despite not featuring highly on the athletes front, many elements of Zhejiang province featured the dragon boats were used in the competition.
Hangzhou Fuyang Xiangrui Aquatic Equipment Factory, a professional boat manufacturer from the Fuyang district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, is the only provider of a total of 34 dragon boats at the Asian Games, including 20 racing boats and 14 boats for training uses.
The Xiangrui-made dragon boats distinguish themselves from others in their design, with 12 national patents, according to Tang Hongbin, president of the company, adding that the boats perform better than others in speed and safety while preserving elements of traditional handicrafts.
Being positive about their market, he said that he also wants to make some breakthroughs in the manufacturing of dragon boats which combines traditional wood and modern technology, in a bid to promote the traditional Chinese culture of dragon boat racing to the world.
Established in 2006, Xiangrui has provided quality boats for a series of international dragon boat events, including several installments of the Asian Games, World Cups, World Championships as well as the East Asian Games.
