An exhibition marking the 120th anniversary of the birth of Zhou Enlai (1898-1976), the first premier of the People's Republic of China, opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Aug 25.
Titled "Zhou Enlai in Hangzhou", the exhibition, which is divided into six sections, highlights more than 100 photos depicting his time spent in Hangzhou in different periods and the stories behind them.
Zhou Bingyi, his niece, attended the exhibition and shared her stories about her uncle.
My uncle once said that he is the premier that belonged to the whole country rather than to the individual family, said Zhou.
In addition, people who have taken photos with the late premier were also invited to the exhibition to recall the memorable times they spent with him.
Zhou visited Hangzhou 30 times, and made a historic contribution to the diplomatic relationship between China and the United States, marked by the negotiations held during the visit of then US President Richard Nixon in Hangzhou in 1972.
The exhibition runs until Sept 2.
