CAFHZ is located in the Dajiangdong industry cluster zone of the city of Hangzhou. It’s a joint venture assembly plant of Ford Motor Company and Changan Automobile Group, or CAF. Its construction began August 29, 2012 and was completed March 24, 2015.
It is the fourth assembly plant of CAF and Hangzhou’s first world-class car assembly program, a major project in Zhejiang province. As a manufacturing base of CAF in the east part of China, CAFHZ has sharply increased CAF’s overall production capacity by 250,000 units per year.
CAFHZ has adopted Ford’s world-class technologies featuring world-leading manufacturing techniques and highly flexible production lines. It has four technology workshops: stamping, welding, painting and final assembly, and can produce six models at the same time. The current vehicle models produced by CAFHZ include Edge and Taurus.
