A photo exhibition featuring the pick of Hangzhou's beautiful landscapes and cultural elements opened in Budapest, capital of Hungary, on Aug 15.

The exhibition, which is on display to the public until Aug 30, selected photos from 3,000 images taken by Hangzhou residents in an annual photo festival, offering visitors a glimpse of the city's natural and humanistic beauty, as well as the social and economic achievements over the past 40 years after China's reform and opening-up.

Local officials, including Wang Zheng, cultural counselor of the Chinese Embassy to Hungary, attended the opening ceremony and highly praised the event.

The exhibition is Hangzhou's attempt to promote cultural exchanges and display its international and modernized image to the world.

Hangzhou and Budapest established friendly relations in 1999, and the ties between the two countries are becoming increasingly close thanks to the Belt and Road Initiative.
