This comprehensive physical education school is located on Shuguang Road in Hangzhou. Originally built in 1956, the school received its present name after a donation by an overseas Chinese benefactor, Chen Jinglun, in 1993. In cooperation with the city of Hangzhou, the school was rebuilt that year.

Its achievements are particularly notable in the gymnastics vault, badminton, and swimming. The school is the alma mater of Sun Yang, gold medalist in the men’s 400-meter freestyle and 1,500-meter freestyle at the 2012 Olympics in London.
